Title: To prepare Jhol Mal
Objectives:
- To study about Jhol mal
- To be able to prepare Jhol mal
Materials Required:
-Animal urine
-Jeevatu
-Farmyard manure
-Locally available plant material (Mugwort,Malabar nut,Stinging nettle, Persian lilac, Indian lilac, Century plant, Siam weed, Wild sage,Peach,Sichuan peppe,Marigold,Tallow tree,Ginger,Onion,Chilli,Garlic,Papaya
Theory:
Jhol mal is a homemade biofertilizer and biopesticide that helps improve crop yields while lowering costs for farmers and reducing the use of harmful chemicals. It is prepare by mixing and fermenting locally available material – animal urine, water, microorganisms, farmyard manure, and plants – in a defined ratio. It controls insect pests which attack and damage crops, protects crops against fungal and vector borne diseases, and supports improved plant health.
Procedure:
Jholmal 1: Farmyard manure, animal urine, and water are mix at a ratio of 1:1:1. The mixture is ready for use in two weeks. The slurry is mix in 1:3 ratio with water and poured at the base of the plant and acts as both a fertilizer and pesticide to control soil-borne pests.
Jholmal 2: Animal urine and water are mix at a ratio of 1:1. Also The mixture is ready for use in two weeks. Also It is mix with water at a ratio of 1:3 and sprayed on the leaves and stems of the plant to control various diseases and insect pests.
Jholmal 3: Locally source plants with insecticidal or insect repellent properties, are mix with animal urine and water at a ratio of 1:5:5. Also The mixture is ready for use in three weeks. The mixture is filter, mixed with water at a ratio of 1:5 for seedlings. Also 1:3 for one month old crops, and then sprayed on the leaves and stems of the plant to control various diseases and insect pests.
Farmers can add Jeevatu to accelerate the decomposition process. Also They can also brew stronger batches of Jholmal, by maintaining temperatures between 15–30°C to further aid fermentation.
Conclusion:
In this way we were able to prepare jhol mal
